The Instructionalize story
The beginnings of Instructionalize can be traced back to an award-winning microlearning framework designed in 2010. In the past 14 years, this work has evolved and scaled to be deployed across knowledge management frameworks, learning repositories, and automated production workflows.
The AI revolution of 2023 launched us into an exciting new era where AI could not just break down content, but also generate it. For the past year, the Instructionalize team has been busy testing out AI tools and techniques in live projects to expedite production without compromising design, quality, or intellectual property infringement.
Led by Arpan Panicker, a Learning Architect with more than 20 years of experience in the learning domain, Instructionalize was put together as a passionate and diverse team with a strategic combination of skills. We started with ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) processes to clean and transform source content. We then used human storyboards to train AI models. AI layers checked consistency and quality. Finally, a custom Storyline export/import automation allowed us to accelerate development by 50%.

SME interviews were combined with real-time AI-enabled scripting. Trained AI assistants converted scripts to high quality application-level questions. Our final step involved AI layers for review and QA tools. We condensed development time by 70% over a databank of 500 questions.

Accelerated analysis
Source content with close to a million words was broken down and analyzed in 48 hours using AI assistants, automation scripts, and analysis tools. The output was a comprehensive curriculum design document. A human-only process would have taken 400 person-hours.
